Since the current measures on the corridor are not sufficient to meet the climate targets, we want to challenge students to explore alternative, more radical measures. The goals is to come up with more alternative, radical measures which can help us to achieve the climate goals on the corridor Rotterdam-Venlo.

Three teams of students from the Erasmus University Rotterdam took part in a six weeks hackathon organized by Topsector Logistiek, TNO and Erasmus Enterprise, as part of the minor New Business Development. They started with kick off, where the idea of the hackathon and the study was presented. After that the teams worked on the challenge. After six weeks there was a final event, where the teams pitched their results. A jury, consist of people with different perspectives, assessed the presentations and they appointed a winner.
Resultaat
The result of the project is 3 creative ideas from the student teams on more alternative, radical measures to achieve the climate goals on the corridor Rotterdam-Venlo. Examples of ideas were to use blockchain technology, optimizing software, make use of cross docking facilities. The ideas were judged on feasibility, innovation, impact and presentation skilss. These ideas could be taken into account by the Ministery of Infrastructure and Watermanagement and other relevant parties in the decision making process.
