Modern societies depend on a reliable, efficient, safe and sustainable systems of mobility and transport. The logistics to move people and goods is complex and has to be adaptable to meet the needs for the future. An interdisciplinary approach is needed to understand the complex systems of logistics and to move forward in developing new knowledge.

Behavioural sciences like sociology, psychology and economy are needed to understand the behaviour of individuals and companies. Operations research, mathematics and applied technological sciences are needed to analyse and optimise the complex dynamic systems. It is self-evident that scientific disciplines like traffic engineering, spatial sciences and logistics are needed to develop and apply new knowledge and insights. The significance of incentives and finances ask for the perspectives of management science and economy. But most of all, an interdisciplinary approach is needed to achieve connection and cooperation.

That is why the Dutch Organisation of Scientific Research (NWO) and the programme Committee TKI Dinalog organise the scientific conference ‘Moving Forward – logistics, transport & mobility’. The aim of this conference is to bring researchers from universities and higher education together for one day to exchange knowledge, define new directions for research and new interdisciplinary scientific perspectives relevant for logistics, transport and mobility.

Come and join us and mark 16 February in your calendar.
